What it Takes, Who to Trust?

His cranky and gruff attitude was not from his age: he was 30-something. But he said something I shall remember as a definition. He said, "Friends are people who you can ask for money...and I don't want people asking me for money, so I don't have many friends!"

I turn that around and nod. I find that my collection of friends say even two years ago seemed low. I value you, and you complete my movie references and you "get" me, but I talked of new friends every day, and my kid was leery to see that most of 'em were acquaintances. I spent many hours riding the N-50 bus home from work to home, when I worked you see, looking at my cel phone, at the list of 12-20 names...and not knowing who would be there and want to talk to me.

Since we've moved to the WILD WEST..so to speak, I find that who we have gravitated to FEEL like friends. MORE SO. It's an "ahhh..." feeling, that I know if trouble should happen, or if they needed say, mail sent to jail, they would TELL me. I have concentrated on sending OUT more mail. And thus i GET mail! The old email connection thing that esp gravitates towards me, if someone emails me I write BACK always, and very quickly! But real mail...and real friends, is great.

In a bizarre place i found this quote : "Our natural tendency is to trust, because we trust our parents. It feels good to really trust. It is also an essential component of love and an important test thereof. Love without trust is dependence masquerading as love." ( http://samvak.tripod.com/faq20.html#more )

It does feel good to trust.
Now...can I borrow $57 dollars..... :)
