Nearby our school was the infamous "School Street". I am sure most have this: the street where kids ditched, got a different education, grew up, did rebellious things?
Ours, basically naive and easy, was a street that kids smoked on. So i heard. I never went there. In the game of "What would you do if you went back in time...?" i don't think i would go out on that street even now. Dunno. I was a good kid then and I probably would chose again to be a 'good' kid.
Not that they were bad. That is one thing i remember.... Maybe the worst thing I recall was something about riding on hoods of cars. Dangerous. What if you fell off? Injuries. Sure my mom would not at all like me to get hurt back then! And pretty sure I would never chose to smoke. not now or then. well, not marjuana or even mere cigarette smoke. I will confess i did do a moment or two with cigars. But that was years later..when Demi Moore and Arnold Swartz. and popular but those people did it too. And Dennis, dear Dionysius! Grin.
But our quad was never bad. What i did once was go talk to the kid and kids who just sat by themselves. Yep. I got bold enough to say HI to them because I thought, "what if i was even shyer?" shier? I probably made 'em feel more uncomfortable but then I was a 'little Jesus'...a gal who did good deeds and was sweet, patient, with a GOOD sense of humour....! Not a SCHOOL STREET GIRL>
