I love making friends. And keeping them.
By keeping them, it is required one calls, or emails, or sends letters. And i can do that.
Some friends are the kind you may say, I won't see you, mabbe in a long time, but I still feel that I can CONNECT to ya, via mail! That's what it is all about!
And granted there are the peers ya just say, we GOTTA get together again! In real life. Both the Indigo Girls and Melissa E have songs where it shows they are say, traveling on a bus and visiting different buds! true true.
But my point being ... old friends from the OLD days are awesomely COOL! By this i say how cool it is when you know that THEY know you from when you were young. The OLD you that you feel is STILL the SAME YOU! They know you, and they remember you, and they recall the nostalgia of those old days of glory. As Springsteen calls 'em...GLORY DAYS!
New friends are great, too. I like making new friends, and you can easily ask my family i say this probably oddly or too much..."my new friend..." or "i just made a NEW friend!" and there i am, all puppy-dogged tailed happy and smiling BIG like i do like a 'geek', happy. The sad thing is, since i have moved a lot, and had more jobs than a few of my corporate committed friends, well i have made friends and then left, and lost friends. Sad. i think. i mean i try to communicate with some of them, but those instant friends added sunshine to my life, and that bit was there and gone.
My old friends, ah, they are all gathered on Facebook! That is the FINAL cool weird thing. All those days and years of saying, you know, Sally Starshine, from X College, the one with the brown hair? (my mom taught me to add apositives to my friends, saying not only THEIR NAME but also a bit about them to help her know who i was talking about..>!! cool Mom), well that is there in summary on the internet! Here is my friends from Hoover! And connect, look at the picture(s) of my friends from the YMCA camp days?! That THAT that is cool.
So i am thankful for friends. I am hope i keep connecting and re-connecting. That re-connection thing makes me VERY happy!
