Seasons Change...

The months flew by so fast! It was just February and now it is nearing Summer?! Within days I will be home with the kid and doing activities and being the stay at home mom full time. (I have been the mom but luckily she goes to school for many hours. You should see the Pied Piper trail of kids that follow us when I meet her at the yellow bus stop every afternoon!) Summer always means a change or transition, so one I have begun is to spend less hours on the phone with one of my old college friends. As crushing as this is to her, I find that I sit and listen to her for up to 3 hours and then do not do my chores or my Graduate School work as well as I should. With only the dog to distract me, and admititdly an occasional afternoon nap, talking makes being home alone less blah. But on the other hand, knowing me, you will know that I am a "lone ranger" and can exist, bike, suntan, read books, and do interesting researches on the internet or in books or in libraries by myself. While I have not seen all of my new Land Of Enchantment city by bus yet...I will sort of miss not being able to try, since bus travel out here is not as safe (stranger people on the bus and TOO far away to catch the FIRST bus from our apartment...) so that me and the kid will not be able to travel like we did some in NYC. April and May brought my second 'stipend' student check, which helped out with school stuff and rent. And the pride of me completing a third Education class. It nears the final part, and I am once again sort of procrastinating when I should be writing school stuff. Typical me. DIANE
