Everybody saves SOMETHING. Right?
Some People say...i save too much.
Sometimes esp after watching Hoarders or some TLC show about people with too much stuff i am like, i admit it, i do keep things...
But, if and when you see the stuff my mom and uncle kept, you would be kind like me and say, are these Worth Money? Are they historical? I THINK SO!
For example, there is this dorky but would look good with teal or turquoise if you lived in San Jose or....hippy parts of New Mexico, necklace i was going to just give away. Upon really LOOKING at it, i think it might not be just costume jewelry!
Matisse Renoir History: The famous copper jewelry Renoir Co. was started in L.A., California, by Jerry Fels. It began after Fels' Air force career and his shortened National Academy of Art (NYC) schooling. At the co. his designing was so prolific the designs were not all produced. Renoir of California, established in 1946, specialized in copper jewelry of geometric or abstract forms. Matisse, LTD.,also established in Los Angeles by Jerry Fels and family in 1952, run by artist Tann, featured copper jewelry with colorful enamel. This company was closely associated with Renoir of California, LTD. Both companies ceased production in 1964. A purchase of this FAMOUS MAKER merchandise is definitely an investment.
So, on eBay this copper weird necklace "might" be worth more than 10 dollars!? Now what? The things i keep, the brochures, the paperwork, the old bills, and the pieces of their lives are archives to me. Dunno how long i will keep them, but to me they are worth something. EVEN IF it is only a small short story.
