Dear Dawg

I'm thinking about our dog. I call him PUPPY.
We just ran into our neighbor's pup, smaller, but a Top, a chihuahua who is named a girl name, well, a Disney name. And yet both do have those Fawn ears...
But our dog is my daughter's dog, and he is a mix -- Chihuahua and Terrier. So that growling jealous thing mixes with a cute jumping loyal but often hunt-oriented pal.

Today my kid really snuggled with him. It was sweet to see. The drizzles and rain made it hard to do anything else BUT snuggle. It was dear.

As i walked him, late, i was thinking of the argument i keep having when someONE calls him "stupid". Ouch. I hate that word. And, he's a DOG! So he thinks like a dog, and when someone calls him a name, i guess i take it personally. I mean, THEY are just doing the Little Orphan Annie cute dumb dog thing, but they are also only copying a sister who says that re: her chihuahua/same family too. He is NOT s-word; he is doing stuff that a hunter dude would do. Chase cats, squirrels. Bark at things that move. Bite if taunted. (nibbles) Pee and poop here if there is no alternative to GO outside.

But not just that. I was thinking how I am walking him, all the time ALL THE TIME, which i don't mind on the spiritual see the moon, nature, bond aspect. But i was like, hey, it's GOOD for a girl to have a dog. A kid to have a dog. And then it was like, so when WILL my kid start really REALLY doing chores/bonding with him? Cuz to some degree, we as adults are not encouraging her to GO outside to walk him....and ....i end up doing MOST of it. Not begrudgingly. More than one has said, well, oh he is YOUR dog....your pal.

So i was thinking, is this just another example of how i am like, the servant to my princess and the grunt to my Queen? yeah. mabbe.
